Classic Rome

First day Our tour will start in the afternoon walk to the city center touching the most important monuments. from the famous Trevi fountain we will go on towards the “living room of Rome “Spanish steps”, one of the most fascinating places of the city we will go down via Condotti, kingdom of elegant and refined shopping and we will reach Piazza Colonna with the Colonna Antonina in the middle, built to celebrate Marco Aurelios victory. After that we will go to Montecitorio, seat of parliament, and the pantheon, huge temple with its beautiful circular shape we will end our tour in piazza Navona, symbol of baroque art with its wonderful fountains and refined buildings

Second day In the morning we will start our visit to Saint Peter’s basilica, heart of Christianity, symbol of Rome and its faith. The basilica is full of great works  of art but the main reliquia is the burial site of its namesake saint peter that thousands of people come to visit from all over the world. We will continue with the visit of Castel Sant Angelo, ancient tomb of emperor Adriano later transformed into a castle. The historical excursus starts from roman art to the papal apartments of the XV century. In the afternoon we will visit Santa Maria Maggiore and Santa Prassede through the explanation of the mosaics that decorate the two basilicas you will discover the history and the technique of this ancient art including the roman medieval period. We will proceed then to san Giovanni in  Lateran, one of the oldest and greatest Christian basilica built by emperor Constantine and restored several times during the centuries. the biggest restoration was the one by Francesco Borromini.

Third day In the morning we will start our Tour to the Coliseum, the most famous roman monument used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles and the arch of Constantine a triumphal arch built to commemorate Constantine’s’ victory over maxentius. We will reach the roman forum, one of the most important archeological complex, the center of roman public life we will proceed then with the visit the Campidoglio , the famous square planned by Michelangelo and we will end our visit with the Vittoriano, the tomb off the unknown soldier.
